In the know

COURTESY ALLIES OF SKIN

Cult beauty brand Allies of Skin has finally landed in Mecca. Founded by Nicolas Travis in a bid to cure his own concerns, the lineup contains clinically proven ingredients, while the formulations themselves are designed to work synergistically with the skin. It’s largely been considered a brand for those in the know, but organic endorsements from Kaia Gerber, Henry Golding and Hailey Bieber have seen it explode. Stuck on which one to try? Our pick is the Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment, a moisturiser with antioxidants, peptides and vitamin C to protect the skin from environmental assaults while improving marks, lines and large pores.

COURTESY IKKARI

Ikkari is a modern apothecary brand by Australian entrepreneur Adrian Norris, who most know for his fashion acumen (he is the co-founder of Aje and Aje Athletica). He’s also incredibly invested in holistic wellbeing. “Ikkari is a culmination of my personal lifestyle and beliefs,” Norris tells Harper’s BAZAAR. The brand philosophy focuses on the links between mind, body and spirit, and offerings are categorised as Inner (ingestible formulas), Outer (skin and body care) and Aura (aromatherapy). “Ikkari offers a comprehensive and holistic approach, with tailored solutions for every individual,” Norris says. Formulated with high- performance natural ingredients, the range promises both results and a renewed sense of deep wellness.

Range Rider (left) and Purple Sage by James Turrell for Lalique

James Turrell is known for his large-scale light installations, but recently collaborated with French glassmaker Lalique on two limited fragrance flacons. The bottles for Ranger Rider and Purple Sage — masculine and feminine, respectively — were inspired by sacred architecture. Described as genuine works of art (and rightly so), only 100 of each were made. Meanwhile, just in from Paco Rabanne is Olympea Flora Intense, a punchy eau de parfum that opens with rose, pink pepper and peony, before a melting base of salty vanilla, sweet blackcurrant and cashmere woods give it incredible depth. If softness is more your speed, get acquainted with Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush eau de parfum. Sensual vanilla collides with fresh peony, while the warmth of ylang ylang gives it depth. It even uses molecules suspended in upcycled rosewater, allowing for a life-like floral redolence while increasing its longevity.
